South Florida Home Sales Continue to Swoon in September
Sales of single-family homes fell 5% to 3,964. The median sales price grew 12.1% to $319,900. September sales weren’t so great statewide, either. Florida SFH sales were down 0.5% to 22,704, although the median sales price increased 11.3% to $222,500. Miami’s Cheapest and Priciest Neighborhoods to Rent
The most expensive areas to rent this fall, all either at or above the $2500 threshold, were Fisher Island ($5100), Venetian Islands ($2600), and Park West ($2500). More affordable options, priced at less than $1500, could be found in Coral Gables and include Riviera, Biscayne Bay & Hammocks. Miami Area Rent to Increase
According to Zillow, Miami is in the top 10 for monthly median rent. “High rent growth in these markets is being driven by high demand and low supply,” said Zillow Chief Economist Dr. Svenja Gudell. Miami's Suburbs are Cashing in on Rentals
According to ZIP code data provided to the Miami Herald by Airbnb, about half of all tourists who stayed at local Airbnb rentals between SEP 2015 and SEP 2016 stayed in Miami Beach.
